Bug Fest 2010 - 9/19/10

We started our Sunday off with a delicious breakfast at Mae's (home of the Shake n' Eggs) on Phinney. This is a VERY kid-friendly place with lots and lots of cow memoriabilia to keep the little baby eyes intrigued.

It was then off to the Burke Museum for the annual Bug Fest. Yes, this little outing was more for mama, a self-professed lover of all things creepy crawly, but fun was had by all.

We visited a very friendly tarantula...

...and even tested our luck at the carniverous plant table (note the exposed baby toes, ready to be munched on at a moments notice by these wildly aggressive plants)- yes, we are risk takers.

While Avery (and daddy too) chickened out on trying the mealworms, Avery stuck with a more sensible lunch of, you guessed it - milk. Mom said the mealworms tasted just like a crispy rice noodle. yummers
