California Dreamin' - The Final Chapter - 10/18/10

After an amazing weekend in the Bay Area, it was time to come home to Seattle. But not before stopping at the Oakland airport Chilis for a less than gourmet meal. Avery studied the menu carefully and warned us that we would not be happy with our dinner choice - she was right.






We hopped on board the plane and returned home with Avery - she managed to stay awake the whole ride home = not very fun or relaxing plane ride for mom and dad.

California Dreamin' Part Two - 10/18/10

Saturday came and we drove out to St. Helena to visit Uncle John and Aunt Gail. We also got to see Cousin Scott and his new fiance Kendra - congrats to you both!







After a great tour by Uncle John of St. Helena, Calistoga and a pit stop at Turley Winery, we spent the day watching our two football teams lose bad.....





....Avery was right in the middle of all the action.....




....all the cheers and smiles......








....but as the scores got worse, daddy had to use his special earmuffs to shield the little one from the rants directed at USC and Arizona :) Hey, at least the Giants won their game later that day!

We had a great time visiting wine country and had a delicious meal at Uncle John and Aunt Gail's later that afternoon.

California Dreamin' Part One - 10/18/10

What a great extended weekend vacation!




We started our adventure at Sea-Tac on Thursday afternoon - we managed to check our own "Live Animal" at the gate :)















Once on the plane, we let the animal loose and she enjoyed every minute of it.















We made it to Great Grandma Charlotte's house - It was so great to meet Great Grandma and Uncle Ed!


















We spent Friday visiting Grandpa's old stomping grounds at the Cal Maritime Academy...









....And then visited San Francisco where Avery narrowly avoided being attacked by a giant Lobster (luckily Mommy protected her).....











.....the water was a little bit choppy so we visited Alcatraz from a distance.....
