Bumbershoot 2011

We spent Monday at Bumbershoot at the Seattle Center.  What a beautiful day!

Avery and Momma spent some time splashin' around at the fountain

We managed to pull Avery away from the fountain....

....and grabbed a seat high above the crowd

Avery tried her best to sing along

Exploring Her Artistic Side

Avery colors, paints, plays with play dough and other craft projects at daycare, so we thought it would be fun to get her a little desk for the family room. The little red chair was Lisa's from Grandma Barr.

Farm Animals, Fair Food, Oh My!

The weather for the last weekend at the Evergreen State Fair couldn't have been more perfect.

Avery has been practicing her "moo" for cows for the last week or so and to see live cows totally blew her away.

The cows had stiff competition with the baby pigs, Pygmy Goats and Angora Goats though.

When it came to lunch, Avery took on the challenge of the foot-long corn dog. Meat on a stick doesn't stand a chance with all those sharp little teeth.

Movin' and Shakin'

Avery is getting braver and braver standing on her own, but is still cautious about taking those first few steps. She will take the help of one finger from Mom or Dad and walk around the house - laughing the whole time. There is one thing for sure, when she starts she may just head off in a full on sprint.

Owl and squirrel finger puppets are two favorite friends. Also note the small pig tail on top of the head...almost enough for a bow.

"Ball" is one of her first real words and lately throwing a ball around the family room and chasing after it is a favorite game. These little dryer balls are perfect for gripping with small hands.

LOVES books. Avery will sit and sort through her books until she finds just the right one for that moment. Sometimes she will actually babble at the pages like she is reading the story!
